On the occasion of International Museum Day, IETT organized a cultural visit to the Ethnographic Museum and Elbasan Castle, together with students from the University College “Canadian Institute of Technology” (CIT).
During the visit, students learned that the museum offers a detailed reflection of the city’s heritage and culture, showcasing the craftsmanship of the time and the daily life of its inhabitants.
They had the opportunity to closely observe the work of metalworkers and artisans, traditional Elbasan furniture, the wool and metalworking room, as well as rooms that depicted the lives of women and men.
The students also engaged in conversations with museum specialist Mr. Ajdi Kokoshi and Ms. Inesa Sulaj, sharing ideas on how technology can be combined with tradition to make future museums more attractive and engaging for the next generations.
The visit also included a tour of Elbasan Castle, where the students were introduced to various monuments within its walls, such as the Clock Tower, the King Mosque, the Church of the Dormition of St. Mary, the Old Castle School, and several historic homes and alleys—each bearing ancient traces of the city’s long history.
IETT considers this type of activity an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the historical and cultural heritage of our country, to develop their organizational skills, and to gain new knowledge.
