A delegation from the Institute of Education, Heritage and Tourism (IETT), consisting of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Xhevahir Lleshi, and the Coordinator for Heritage and Tourism at IETT, Ms. Anisa Hykaj, held a working meeting with Mr. Salah Haroun, founder and president of the Albanian–Arab Friendship Association in Tirana.
The central focus of this meeting was a project to be organized soon by IETT as part of the series “Literary Encounters from World Heritage,” in collaboration with the Albanian–Arab Friendship Association and the Embassy of Egypt in Tirana.
The guest of honor at this event will be the Egyptian writer Mohamed Salmawy, who also serves as the President of the Egyptian Writers’ Union.
Mr. Salmawy is visiting Albania in his capacity as the biographer of Nobel Prize-winning author Naguib Mahfouz.
During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on areas of mutual interest such as publishing, cultural heritage, and historical and cultural tourism. A special emphasis was placed on the translation of Naguib Mahfouz’s masterpiece “The Cairo Trilogy” into the Albanian language.
