As part of the “Egyptian Culture Week,” IETT organized an open lecture on Egypt–Albania relations at its premises, with the special participation of the Ambassador of Egypt to Tirana, H.E. Mohamed Heider, along with other members of the Egyptian Embassy, professors, researchers, and students. We feel a deep connection to Egypt’s extraordinary culture, as well as to the fact that part of our own history is linked to that country. The attendees were first welcomed by the Director of IETT, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramiz Zekaj.
The Egyptian Cultural Week showcased the finest cultural, historical, and artistic values of a country with which Albanians have had — and continue to have — excellent relations in various fields, said Prof. Zekaj, among other remarks.
Prof. Ahmed Ghobashi then continued with his lecture, where he spoke about the origins of bilateral relations between Egypt and Albania, Muhammad Ali of Egypt — considered the founder of modern Egypt — and the reforms he undertook in various sectors, which consequently brought about a rich Albanian diaspora.
At the end of the event, acknowledgments were expressed by Prof. Muhamed Mufaku, a scholar and author of several publications and writings on Egypt, as well as by Dr. Faruk Borova, former ambassador to the Middle East, along with other participants.
The relations between our two countries are entering a new chapter, further strengthened by such shared cultural activities.
