The Thermal Baths of Benja are a rare natural phenomenon known for their high curative properties. They are located 14 kilometers from the city of Përmet, in the municipality of Petran.

This site features six thermal springs in total. Four of them are used to treat rheumatic conditions, while the other two serve different purposes—one for treating various skin conditions and the other for improving digestive health. Two of the springs, which cover a larger area, are located at the foot of the Katiu Bridge, while the remaining ones appear as stone bathtubs.

The baths have become a year-round destination for those seeking the benefits of these sulfur-rich waters with strong therapeutic effects. The springs are particularly popular in summer, when visitor numbers peak, but they are also frequented in the colder seasons—even when temperatures drop to zero degrees Celsius—as the hot, naturally heated water remains inviting in the stone tubs.

The waters have been scientifically and analytically studied, revealing a chemical composition rich in sulfate and bicarbonate soda. According to researchers, the uniqueness of these springs lies not only in their warmth but also in the mineral content dissolved in the water, which has significant therapeutic benefits.

The temperature of these open natural springs ranges from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.

Visitors can enjoy unforgettable moments in this natural wonder—not only in the Thermal Baths of Benja themselves, but also in the breathtaking landscape surrounding the Lengarica River, offering adventure and relaxation alike.

Come and experience it for yourself!
