IETT, in collaboration with Interpret Europe (IE), organized an open lecture on heritage interpretation.
During her presentation, Daniela Ruci, a biologist and Certified Interpretive Guide by IE, emphasized the importance of integrating this practice by tour guides when accompanying visitors to various sites across Albania.
Interpretive guides around the world share a common dedication: to inspire participants through their heritage, emotionally engaging them with the places they visit, the objects they see and touch, with nature, museums, archaeological parks, and more.
Visitors will leave their journey carrying with them a story, a feeling for each place they visited. They will then pass on their entire experience to family, friends, and peers—who will, undoubtedly, want to experience the same. This is the power and significance of interpretation.
Through a concrete example, Daniela managed to involve the participants in this session by interpreting an object that carried a story from the past.
Heritage interpretation is a new approach that plays a key role in learning about the past and transmitting it to future generations.
