The Institute of Education, Heritage and Tourism (IETT) focuses, among other things, on enriching libraries across all Albanian-speaking areas. The goal of this project is to spread knowledge among all age groups by donating books in various genres. Books selected for donation from the IETT Institute’s collection are gifted to various cultural and educational institutions, both public and private, to support students, learners, and reading enthusiasts.
In this context, through the initiative of the Chairman of the IETT Governing Board, Prof. Xhevahir Lleshi, over 260 copies and 51 selected book titles—publications of IETT—were donated to the city library of Ulcinj. These include: “The Girls from Paris…”, short stories by Roland Gjoza (also by the same author: “Hitchcock’s Birds”, “Satyricon” (essays), “Twenty Americas” (stories); “Ajtanga”, stories by Faslli Haliti; “Journey”, by Ridvan Pllana, a doctor from Kosovo living in Australia; “He Who Loses His Homeland is Schopenhauer”, poetry by R. Gjoza; “Icon of Mad Passion”, essays by Xhevair Lleshi. Also by him: “Loving Apostles”, essays, “Structures of Personality”, “The Gathering of Souls”, “The Mystery of Kodra”, a literary biography, “My Son’s Heart Beats in Another”, stories; “China, a Gravity”, by G. Podgorica; “The Fairy with Horns”, fairy tales, and “Not Even Myself”, stories by Petraq Zoto; “Shoes for the Final Judgement”, stories by Faruk Myrtaj; “Albania”, a poem by Xhemail A. Peci; “To Grow Through Love”, by Atjon Zhiti, prepared by his father Visar Zhiti; “Wonder”, a novel by Dashnor Kokonozi; the very interesting notes “From the Day My Country Lives” and “Fafi Has (Un)clear Visions”, by author Pjer Thomas (Pjerin Thomai), Antwerp, Belgium; “The Golden Lyrics of Esenoin”, three treasured books by Çlirim Mukli; the wonderful lyrics of Skënder Rusi, and more. A truly valuable gift…
On this occasion, a delegation from the Institute—represented by the Executive Director, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Ramiz Zekaj, IETT Coordinator Ms. Anisa Hykaj, and collaborators Prof. Dr. Arian Kadiu and Prof. Dr. Muharrem Dezhgiu—visited the public library of the city of Ulcinj, where they were welcomed by its director, Ms. Ardita Rama.
Ms. Rama thanked and congratulated the IETT Institute for this beautiful, fruitful, and much-needed initiative for the Ulcinj Library. She expressed her hope that similar initiatives would come from other Albanian institutions, both official and independent, emphasizing the importance of enriching this institution with titles in the Albanian language.
At the end of the visit, the IETT Institute was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by Ms. Ardita Rama, with the motivation: “For the contribution made in enriching the Library’s collections with books in the Albanian language.”
IETT has undertaken a series of initiatives to enrich the libraries of public and private schools in Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia—a project it plans to expand in the future.
