The Institute of Education, Heritage and Tourism (IETT) took part in Balkonnect Festival 2026 through the participation of its Executive Director, Mrs. Anisa Hykaj.
She participated as a panelist in the session “Tourism, Real Estate & Infrastructure and Cultural Heritage and Creative Economy as Tourism Infrastructure” held at Piramida, Tirana.
Mrs. Hykaj discussed the role of cultural heritage, education and community engagement in creating more authentic and sustainable tourism experiences in Albania and the Western Balkans, while also sharing practical examples from IETT’s work in cultural tours, heritage interpretation activities and educational initiatives related to cultural tourism. She also emphasized the importance of destination identity, heritage interpretation and visitor experience in strengthening tourism development and promoting long-term cultural value.
The panel was moderated by Prof. PhD. Kejda Nuhu and brought together professionals from tourism, innovation, investment, business development and creative industries.
